Body Composition Analysis
1. Body composition analysis - Fat measurement, through bioelectric impedance.
Preparation for the measurements.
For body composition analysis, it is essential to highlight the following rules:
- Three hours before the fat measurement, do not consume any food, water, or other liquids.
- If we begin our fat measurement in the morning, we should wait for 3 hours after awakening.
- Avoid too much exercise for at least 12 hours
- Twelve hours before the fat measurement, do not consume alcohol.
- It is a good idea to visit the bathroom before the measurements.
- Fat measurement is not performed during pregnancy for precautionary reasons and in people who have a pacemaker in their heart or other metal implants in their body.
Frequency of measurements. The measurements can be performed either in the context of the dietary session, or separately. If you do them separately, the recommended frequency is every 15 or 30 days.
2. Visceral fat analysis using the Tanita Viscan AB-140 device.
When we talk about stored fat, we refer to the fat that accumulates in various body areas (such as the abdomen, buttocks, thighs) and reflects the excess energy that our body has. Specifically, the stored fat found in the abdomen (trunk) area can be divided into three categories.
1. 1. The subcutaneous fat, which can be felt (pinch) with our fingers, can be located under the skin and help maintain our body temperature.
